Coconut Wadi (Burfi)

The aroma of coconut with the richness of milk and dry fruits make the coconut wadi's a delicious, smooth and moist sweet. Mangoes are in season and everyone loves mangoes. So why not combine the two and make a delicious mango-coconut wadi? well here is the recipe....


Ingredients:

  1. Grated Coconut - 2 Cups
  2. Whole Milk - 1 Cup
  3. Sugar – 1 Cup
  4. Mango Juice – 1 Cup (Optional)
  5. Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
  6. Cashews – ¼ cup
  7. Pistachios – ¼ cup
  8. Rose color (optional) – 1-2 tbsp

Procedure :

  1. Mix coconut, milk and sugar in a thick bottom pan.
  2. Put the pan on medium heat and keep continuously stirring the mix.
  3. Add mango juice and cashews when it gets thicker and keep stirring.
  4. Take off the flame when the moisture evaporates and the mix becomes thick.
  5. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  6. Grease a flat plate with ghee or butter and flatten the mix over it.
  7. Cut the wadi using a knife and decorate with pistachios or rose color.
